Yves Saint Laurent Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain

I am so incredibly obsessed with these YSL lip stains. I know they were on my Sephora VIB Sale recommendation list, but I wanted to go further into why I love these as much as I do. Now with that being said. I did buy Red Tribe (middle) and Nu Interdit (right) during the VIB sale, but I bought Black Red Code (Left) a few weeks before at full price and I would 100% rebuy this at full price. This has become one of my favorite lip products to date. I still absolutely love my Dose of Colors liquid lipsticks, but these are so different because they’re a stain.

As you can see from the swatches, they’re super vibrant and pretty pigmented, but you CAN still see a little bit of your natural lips, which makes it look more natural. I also love that when they fade its does stain your lips a little so it’s not as obvious. I will say with some of the darker colors when you’re eating, the outer edges of your lips stay pretty dark ( at least if you have big lips like me) so it is obvious but unlike a liquid lip, reapplying these is a cinch and it doesn’t build up uncomfortably or get crumbly. I wore Black Red Code recently to go wine tasting and they held up really well and my lips honestly looked more wine-stained than like I was wearing a bold lip (which I like). My ONLY complaint is that I wish they would have more variety in colors. They have quite a bit of shades, but a lot of them are pretty similarly toned. I just wish there was a bit more variety, but either way I’m getting more! The next shades I want to get are: Nude Emblem, Coral Anti-Mainstream.
