Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick in Backtalk & Blackmail

So you if you read my first post on the Vice Liquid Lipsticks, you know I’m a HUGE fan of them. I kept watching/reading reviews however and I kept seeing that the darker colors were getting some negative reviews, and I didn’t actually buy any (I was waiting for Blackmail to arrive in stores). When my local store finally got some in stock I picked up Blackmail and decided to swatch and review it for you.

Now you see these two colors are already two of my favorites in their regular lipsticks. I used them quite often, but I do know that with liquid lipsticks, sometimes the color is different (it dries down differently) or it could just be an uncomfortable formula (the originals are already matte).

The reviews I watched/read all said that the darker colors (mainly Blackmail) where dry and patchy. As you can see from the swatch above it IS a little more patchy than the swatch for Backtalk. However, on my lips (as you can see below) I was able to even it out with 2 coats.

Forgive me for the crappy quality photos, I used my cellphone and it was late at night and the lighting in my office SUCKS. The first photo. is with flash (I had really bad flashback because I used the the One & Done foundation with SPF). The second is without flash and just my crappy room light.

I will say that the formula for Blackmail isn’t as comfortable as the more neutral or light colors, but it’s not uncomfortable. Like I can feel it on my lips (unlike the other ones I’ve tried), but it’s not like the original ColourPop Ultra Mattes where I needed to take the color off immediately. I did try this on pretty late at night, so I didn’t really get to test it with food or anything, but it’s a pretty color and I like it enough to keep it and make it work.

Backtalk in formula is very similar to Liar and I love the color and wearability of it.

Let me know if you have other questions. When I actually get to test Blackmail with food and such, I’ll have an update.
