Dose of Nudes

IMG_2179

So, I’ve been looking for some new lipsticks. I mean don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my Urban Decay lipsticks and the KVD studded lipsticks, but I felt like I needed to branch out more and try different brands. I’ve tried other brands (MAC, NARS, Young Blood, ColorPop, drug store brands, etc…), and while I’ve love certain colors, I feel like their formulas are nothing special. They’re not bad by any means the formulas just don’t have a wow factor.

Since I’ve loved the DoC liquid lipsticks, I thought I’d try their regular lipstick too. I also decided to pick up a gloss too.

I decided to get the lipsticks in Poise and Blush and the gloss in Undressed. I didn’t plan it, but I ended up with basically all nudes. (Yes, Blush is technically not a true nude but on my lips, it’s a pinky nude). Here they are swatched:

I’m loving these formulas. The lipsticks are creamy and pigmented. It is a little “chalky” feeling on the first layer, but the second layer makes it so much better. My lips don’t feel chapped or dry at ALL when wearing these. The gloss is nice a slick without being sticky. It’s nice with a high shine and super pigmented. Definitely going to be investing in more of these. My only serious sadness right now is that I bought these when I was really pale and they looked gorgeous on, but I’ve been hiking every day this week and I’m about 3 shades darker now and they look a little silly on me.

Next, I’m dying to try the new Tarte Color Splash lipsticks. If any of you have snagged any of these already, let me know!

    1. I want to try the Rainforest of the Sea foundation too. I only recently discovered that I can use mineral sunscreens (I used to think I was allergic to all of it) and now I’m curious to try it!
